The EPA's Renovation, Repair & Painting Lead Law (RRP), effective April 22, 2010, requires that anyone paying for repairs or renovations to residential or child occupied properties built before 1978 must employ only EPA certified lead removal contractors. This law is designed to protect people inhabiting those properties from exposure to toxic lead released during repairs and renovations to older properties (considered to be lead contaminated). Lead dust is associated with irreversible damage to a child's nervous system, brain function and general well being and is also harmful to adults.
MasterCraft was one of the first home improvement contractors in the Greater Boston area to achieve this EPA lead removal certification.
